New Delhi: Ahead of the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army on Monday shared a post highlighting the military action as a decisive response to terrorism and recalling the mission as one that dismantled enemy command structures within minutes.

“Resolve. Clarity. Mission Focus. Justice Served- Swift and Precise. Evidence doesn't argue - It settles,” the Indian Army posted on X.

A photo shared by the Army read: “OPERATION SINDOOR continues...THE UNRAVELLING 22 MINUTES AND THEN, THEIR COMMAND COLLAPSED… INDIA DOES NOT FORGET.”

Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7, 2025, days after a deadly terror attack carried out by Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba targeted tourists in Kashmir’s Pahalgam, killing 25 men who had travelled to the Valley. The incident was among the deadliest attacks in recent years and triggered widespread outrage across the country.

In response, Indian armed forces launched coordinated strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). According to official details released at the time, nine major terror launchpads linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen were destroyed, and more than 100 terrorists were eliminated.

India had stated that the operation specifically targeted terrorism-related infrastructure facilities of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, and that no Pakistani military or civilian installations were hit.

The retaliatory strikes were followed by drone attacks and shelling by Pakistan on Indian border towns, leading to a four-day military conflict between the two neighbouring countries.

India maintained a strong defence during the escalation and later carried out further strikes that damaged military and communication installations across several Pakistani bases.

Following the heavy losses, Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) contacted the Indian DGMO, after which a ceasefire was agreed upon on May 10, bringing an end to the four-day conflict.
