New Delhi: The 93rd Indian Air Force (IAF) Day celebrations are currently underway at the Hindon Air Force Station in Uttar Pradesh, commemorating the illustrious history and valour of the Indian Air Force.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings to the air personnel and their families on Wednesday, praising their “bravery, discipline and precision.” He lauded the IAF for playing a vital role in safeguarding Indian skies, especially during the most challenging situations.

“Greetings to all the courageous Air Warriors and their families on Air Force Day,” said Modi. “The Indian Air Force epitomises bravery, discipline and precision. They have played a vital role in safeguarding our skies, including during the most challenging situations.”

The Prime Minister also acknowledged the IAF’s invaluable role during natural calamities, emphasising their commitment, professionalism and indomitable spirit that make every Indian proud.

Meanwhile, President Droupadi Murmu also extended her warm wishes to the air warriors, veterans and their families. In a statement posted on X, the President highlighted the force’s strength and readiness to face any challenge.

“Our Air warriors protect our skies and serve the nation with tireless dedication during disasters and humanitarian missions,” President Murmu said. “The Indian Air Force has always demonstrated courage, commitment and excellence. The force has made the nation proud with its strength and readiness to face every challenge.”

Observed annually on 8 October, Indian Air Force Day marks the anniversary of the formation of the IAF and honours the sacrifices made by countless air warriors in defending the nation.

The celebrations at Hindon this year come at a time when the force continues to modernise and strengthen its capabilities, reaffirming its role as a crucial pillar of India’s defence.
