India gives befitting reply to Pakistan’s attack, ISI also targeted: Reports

New Delhi: The situation between India and Pakistan has taken a dramatic turn, as both nations have reportedly launched large-scale military operations against each other, following Pakistan’s initial attacks on Indian territories.
According to official and media sources, Pakistan first launched strikes targeting areas in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, and Gujarat, prompting an immediate and forceful response from India. The Indian Armed Forces reportedly struck 15 key locations inside Pakistan, including areas close to the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) headquarters, in a rapid escalation of hostilities.
As tensions soar, India continues to carry out targeted strikes inside Pakistani territory, with sources confirming the Indian Army remains on high alert across all border sectors.
Amid the escalating conflict, diplomatic efforts are underway. Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar is in active communication with at least 10 foreign ministers, seeking international support and urging restraint from the Pakistani side.
India has also been in direct contact with the United States, which, according to diplomatic sources, has urged Pakistan to back down to prevent regional instability. In a statement posted on social media, Jaishankar acknowledged the U.S. for its support, stating, "Deeply appreciate US commitment to work with India in the fight against terrorism. Underlined India’s targeted and measured response to cross-border terrorism. Will firmly counter any attempts at escalation.
In response to Pakistan’s aggression, Indian defence forces successfully intercepted all incoming drones and missiles, preventing major damage in civilian areas. However, shelling and drone sightings have triggered blackouts and evacuations in border towns.
A high-level emergency meeting of the Ministry of Defence is currently underway in New Delhi, chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Top military leadership, including the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and Tri-Service Chiefs, are reviewing the situation and India's operational readiness.
Reports from border areas confirm residential areas have been damaged due to Pakistani shelling.
The ongoing escalation follows India’s launch of Operation Sindoor, a large-scale military response after Pakistani terrorists brutally attacked and killed innocent Indian tourists earlier this week in Pahalgam.
