Woman killed as luxury car runs over bike in Mumbai; Shiv Sena leader's son prime suspect

Mumbai: In a tragic incident reported by the Mumbai Police, a woman lost her life after a luxury car collided with the bike she was riding with her husband early Sunday morning in Worli, Mumbai, Maharashtra.
The deceased has been identified as Kaveri Nakhwa, aged 45, a resident of Worli Koliwada. According to police reports, the couple was riding their bike near Atria Mall in Worli around 5:30 am when a BMW car struck them. Kaveri Nakhwa succumbed to her injuries, while her husband sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
The Mumbai Police issued a statement confirming the details of the incident, stating, "A BMW car ran over two people riding a bike. The woman died in this incident and the other person was injured."
Following the collision, the driver of the BMW fled the scene. It was revealed that the couple, belonging to the fishing community, was returning home after purchasing fish when the tragic accident occurred. Despite the husband managing to jump off the bike to escape further harm, Kaveri Nakhwa tragically passed away during treatment.
The police investigation uncovered that the luxury car involved in the accident belonged to a leader of Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) in Palghar, Maharashtra. Additionally, it was noted that the leader's son was also present in the car at the time of the incident.
Mihir Shah is currently absconding and is suspected to have been drunk during the time of the accident.
"Worli police are continuing their investigation into the matter," emphasized the police spokesperson.
The incident has sparked public outcry and demands for justice as authorities work to gather more details surrounding the circumstances of the collision. The tragic loss of Kaveri Nakhwa has left the community in mourning, highlighting concerns over road safety and accountability.
