Goa nightclub fire: Court sends Luthra Brothers to judicial custody till Jan 9

Arpora: A Goa court has remanded Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, co-owners of the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Arpora, to judicial custody till January 9 in connection with the deadly fire that claimed 25 lives and left several others injured.

The nightclub was gutted by a massive blaze on December 6. Following the incident, the Luthra brothers allegedly left India and flew to Thailand. They were deported back to India on December 17 and subsequently arrested by the Goa Police.

Earlier, their police custody had been extended by the Mapusa Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court.

The Goa Police registered a criminal case on December 7 at the Arpora Anjuna Police Station, North Goa, invoking Sections 105, 125, 125(a), 125(b) and 287 read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
