Fire at kirana shop in Telangana claims three lives, two injured

Rangareddy: A fire broke out at Osman Kirana Shop in Rangareddy in Telangana, on February 28, resulting in three deaths and two injuries. The incident, caused by a short circuit, led to a refrigerator explosion, which rapidly spread flames throughout the three-storey building.
According to PS Narsingi SHO Hari Krishna, the fire started around 5:30 PM when the refrigerator inside the shop exploded, triggering a blaze that quickly extended to the upper floors.
Police reports indicate that Tameez Khan, a resident of Gandipet Mandal, filed a complaint stating that his cousin, Osman Khan, owned the shop located on the ground floor of a G+2 building in Pasha Colony, Puppalguda. Upon hearing of the fire, Tameez Khan rushed to the scene, where he found the flames had already spread to the first floor, where Osman Khan’s family members were located.
Tragically, Osman Khan’s relatives, Jameela Khatun (65), Shahana Khanam (30), and Sidra Fathima (6), were on the first floor and died from smoke inhalation. Meanwhile, Younis Khan (44) and his wife Asia Khatun (36), who lived on the second floor, were injured after attempting to escape by jumping from the building.
