'Physical relationship for Dubai posting; Hindu women targeted': Ex-Wipro employee alleges

Pune, Maharashtra: A former employee has filed a complaint with the Hinjawadi Police and served a legal notice to Wipro Technologies, alleging religious harassment, workplace discrimination and forced resignation.
According to the complainant, she has sought police intervention and legal action over what she describes as months of harassment during her employment with the company.
The complainant alleged that certain individuals in the workplace targeted Hindu women and subjected them to coercion.
"These individuals trap and coerce Hindu women, forcing them to choose between complying with their demands or resigning from their jobs," she said.
She further alleged that she had endured prolonged harassment during her tenure.
"I had to bring to light the sheer amount of harassment and torture I endured over the past ten months. When we report these incidents to the company, they dismiss them and the matter is subsequently swept under the rug," she claimed.
Allegations against senior colleague
The complainant also levelled allegations against a colleague identified as Shahina Rafiq.
"Shahina Rafiq began harassing me from my very first day on the job," she alleged.
The former employee further claimed that Rafiq made inappropriate suggestions regarding her career progression.
"She tried to convince me to establish a physical relationship with Country Head Ramkumar and use that connection to secure a transfer to Dubai, where she could arrange my marriage with one of the Sheikhs, ensuring financial growth and sexual satisfaction," the complainant alleged.
Police complaint and demand for probe
Speaking about the police complaint, the woman said she had approached authorities and was informed that an inquiry would be conducted before the registration of an FIR.
"I submitted a complaint yesterday. I have been summoned today regarding the FIR. They stated that they would conduct an investigation, following which an FIR would be formally registered," she said.
The complainant also alleged that she repeatedly sought an explanation from the company regarding her exit from employment.
"On April 24, 2026, we raised this issue once again. This occurred after my resignation, when I demanded that they provide me with a specific reason as to why I had been terminated," she said.
Seeks reinstatement
The former employee said her primary demand is reinstatement.
"My demand is simple: I want my job back. My termination was illegal. I have reiterated this point time and again," she said.
She also called for stronger institutional mechanisms to address workplace grievances in the private sector.
"Secondly, a dedicated institutional mechanism should be established within every private sector organisation," she added.
The complaint comes weeks after similar allegations surfaced at TCS's Nashik facility, drawing attention to concerns raised by some employees regarding workplace practices and grievance redressal mechanisms.
