Six terrorists killed, two soldiers martyred in dual clashes in J-K's Kulgam

Srinagar: In Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, six terrorists were killed in separate encounters, resulting in the loss of two soldiers' lives, officials confirmed on Sunday.

According to reports, the encounters took place in the villages of Modergam and Chinnigam, spanning from Saturday into Sunday. Two terrorists were found deceased at the Modergam site, while four were recovered from Chinnigam.

Among the casualties were two army soldiers, including a para commando, who sacrificed their lives during the operations against the terrorists.

Jammu and Kashmir's Director General of Police, RR Swain, praised the significant achievement of neutralizing such a large number of terrorists. He emphasized that these operations are crucial milestones in enhancing security measures and sending a strong message.

Swain expressed confidence that these successes underscore the ongoing efforts to eradicate terrorism in the region, highlighting the effective collaboration between security forces and local intelligence networks.

"These operations demonstrate the effectiveness of our security strategies and community involvement in gathering vital intelligence. We are determined to bring the fight against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir to a decisive end," Swain concluded.
