Eid Mubarak! India prepares for Saturday celebration; Best wishes & status to share

The auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr 2026, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, has brought a split celebration to India this year. While the crescent moon was sighted in some regions late Thursday, leading to celebrations in Kerala on Friday, March 20, the major central moon sighting committees have confirmed that the Shawwal moon was not sighted across most of the country. Consequently, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday, March 21, 2026, across Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and other major cities.
Families are preparing traditional delicacies, with Sheer Khurma and Biryani topping the menu. Markets, especially in areas celebrating Chand Raat are witnessing a last-minute rush for clothes, gifts, and Mehendi (henna) applications.
