Panic in Delhi schools: More schools hit by bomb threats, prompting mass searches

New Delhi: Delhi's educational institutions were thrust into a state of alarm this morning as a series of well-known schools received emailed bomb threats, prompting immediate and extensive responses from the Delhi Police.

In the early hours, threats were reported by St. Thomas School in Dwarka, Vasant Valley School in Vasant Kunj, Mother's International School in Hauz Khas, Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar, and Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Lodi Estate. As the morning progressed, more schools also reported receiving similar menacing emails.

Upon receiving the threats, authorities swiftly initiated evacuation procedures at the affected schools. Police units, accompanied by bomb disposal squads, were immediately dispatched to conduct thorough searches of all premises. While these incidents caused significant disruption and widespread panic among students, staff, and parents, all searches concluded with nothing suspicious being foundso far.

This latest spree of false alarms marks a deeply concerning and escalating trend of repeated bomb threats targeting schools across the National Capital Region. The incidents echo similar hoax threats that struck several other Delhi schools, including CRPF Public Schools and Navy Children School, as well as St. Stephen's College, just days prior on July 14 and 15. All previous threats also resulted in no actual danger but created considerable distress.

Police cyber experts are actively engaged in ascertaining the origin of these apparently coordinated threats, which are strongly believed to be part of a broader, disruptive pattern aimed at creating chaos and fear. Authorities are maintaining heightened vigilance and appealing for calm.
