Delhi records temperature below seasonal average, air quality 'poor' at 201

New Delhi: Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 14.2 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, which is 4.6 degrees below the season’s average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The IMD forecasted mainly clear skies for the day, with the relative humidity recorded at 50% at 8.30 am. The maximum temperature for the day is expected to reach around 37 degrees Celsius.

However, the air quality in the city remains a concern. The Air Quality Index (AQI) was measured at 201 at 9 am, placing it in the "poor" category. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) classifies an AQI between 201 and 300 as 'poor'. For reference, AQI values between 0 and 50 are considered 'good', 51-100 'satisfactory', 101-200 'moderate', 301-400 'very poor', and 401-500 'severe'.

Residents are advised to take precautions, especially those with respiratory conditions, as the poor air quality could affect health throughout the day.
