Patna: The Communist Party of India (Marxist), a key constituent of the opposition INDIA bloc, released its manifesto for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections on Saturday, with senior leader Brinda Karat launching a sharp attack on the ruling NDA.

Speaking at the manifesto release, Karat accused the NDA of resorting to a “negative campaign” and spreading slander against opposition leaders “out of desperation.” She alleged that the alliance had “nothing to showcase as achievements in the two decades they have been in power in Bihar.”

Referring to the recent killing of Jan Suraaj Party supporter Dular Chand Yadav in Mokama, Karat claimed the incident exposed the “prevailing mafia raj and jungle raj under the NDA rule.” She said the opposition INDIA bloc would not allow lawlessness to take hold in the state.

The CPI(M) leader also criticised Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for branding Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi “an agent of Pakistan.” Calling the remark “appalling,” Karat said it reflected the BJP’s reckless approach to political discourse.

Unveiling the party’s promises, Karat said the CPI(M) manifesto aligned with the INDIA bloc’s vision of employment generation in Bihar. She highlighted the continuing migration crisis, noting that people were being forced to leave the state for states like Gujarat, only to be “denied even the minimum daily wage fixed by the government.”
