CJP's Delhi protest: Know which routes and metro gates are closed in national capital today

New Delhi: The Delhi Traffic Police enforced strict transit curbs and vehicular diversions across key stretches of the national capital from 6 am on Saturday in response to the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) scheduled 'Jantar Mantar 2.0' rally demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Security personnel were deployed in strength across central intersections, erecting multiline barricades and conducting random vehicle inspections. The security arrangements coincide with broader restrictions across the city, including metro gate closures, train cancellations, and targeted mobile internet shutdowns.
According to official advisories, severe congestion and diversions are expected around Connaught Place, Mandi House, Patel Chowk, Jantar Mantar and surrounding corridors. Traffic authorities noted that regulation intensity will dynamically respond to law-and-order developments throughout the day.
Key arterial routes affected by the advisories
Primary protest radius: Ashoka Road-Jantar Mantar Road roundabout, Tolstoy Marg-Janpath crossing, Jai Singh Road-Sansad Marg crossing, Rail Bhawan roundabout, Patel Chowk, Gol Dak Khana and Windsor Place.
Connaught Place and outer corridors: Mandi House, Barakhamba Road junction, Minto Road-Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg junction and the Chelmsford Road and Sansad Marg connections to the Outer Circle.
Extended capital arteries: Bhairon Road-Mahatma Gandhi Marg intersection, Lodhi Road flyover, Neela Gumbad roundabout, Madarsa T-point, Samrat Hotel roundabout, Sardar Patel Marg-Panchsheel Marg crossing, Bhikaji Cama Place and Moti Bagh underpasses and the Ring Road-San Martin Marg junction.
In addition to road diversions, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) shuttered entry and exit gates across 57 metro stations starting at 9 pm on Friday. Simultaneously, a 24-hour suspension of mobile internet services took effect in central Delhi at 10 pm on Friday.
Commuters heading toward regional transit hubs, including major railway stations, inter-state bus terminals (ISBTs), and the Indira Gandhi International Airport, have been urged to account for significant delays and avoid non-essential travel through New Delhi and central zones.
The demonstration targets the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, with organizers pressing for CEC Gyanesh Kumar's immediate resignation and the reinstatement of excluded voters.
