Kolkata: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has finished a second round of polygraph tests on Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital (RGKMCH), in their ongoing probe into the rape and murder of a female doctor at the college.

CBI sources had earlier mentioned that the tests were conducted by a team from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL). Previously, the CBI also performed a polygraph test on Sanjay Roy, who has been arrested in connection with the case.

On August 25, the anti-corruption branch of the CBI carried out searches at various locations related to Sandip Ghosh and his relatives in Kolkata, West Bengal.

The CBI had filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Dr. Sandip Ghosh on August 24, following orders from the Calcutta High Court. The court had directed the CBI to investigate alleged corruption at the medical college.

The Calcutta High Court has given the CBI three weeks to report on their progress, with the next update due on September 17.

Earlier this month, the Supreme Court ordered that the security of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital be taken over by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in response to the case.

The body of the trainee doctor was discovered in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on August 9.
