Patna: BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Wednesday levelled a series of allegations against the Nehru-Gandhi family, claiming that institutions linked to the party had received funding from China and other foreign entities, and accused its leaders of pursuing what he termed a “compromise mission”.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday morning, Nabin alleged that during the UPA years, the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation received funds from the Chinese government and networks associated with George Soros.

“And then comes Sonia Gandhi, whose entire political career you can observe. Between 2004 and 2014, through the National Advisory Council, she effectively acted as a 'super Prime Minister', running a parallel government and managing the Cabinet. This was clearly part of the compromise mission of the Congress Party. During the same period, you may recall, the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation received funding from the Chinese government and George Soros’ network...” he said.

He also attacked Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, accusing them of putting personal interests above national interests.

“I am presenting before you the compromise story of the Nehru-Gandhi family—how the family carried out a compromise mission, compromising the interests of the country’s people while always protecting their own interests. I am sharing some details with you. There was a time when Jawaharlal Nehru himself said that 45 crore people are my liability...” Nabin said.

Targeting Indira Gandhi, he claimed foreign interference in Congress campaigns.
“Now let us come to Indira Gandhi, who continuously built a powerful image for herself. But we all know that the U.S. Ambassador Moynihan had admitted that the CIA provided funds to the Congress party for election campaigning...” he said.

On Rahul Gandhi, the BJP leader alleged that his foreign visits and meetings raised questions.
“Now let us come to Rahul Gandhi, who is often seen as a poster figure of negative politics. He undertook more than 247 foreign trips, but in most of these trips, security agencies were not informed. Under what kind of compromise mission was this being done? Visiting foreign countries, meeting close associates like Ilhan Omar and George Soros, and conducting political activities in line with their influence—under what mission was this taking place?...” he said.

Nabin also referred to the Bofors controversy while speaking about Rajiv Gandhi.
“Now, if we look at Rajiv Gandhi’s compromises, we can see how defense services were used as a means to strengthen personal financial interests. In the Bofors scandal, efforts were made to obstruct the Swedish investigation in order to protect a friend, Quattrocchi...” he alleged.

He further accused the Congress leadership of misleading the youth.
“And I would say that when it comes to mobilizing youth on a large scale with a positive mindset, standing with the nation’s biggest youth movement, if someone is trying to mislead these young people onto the wrong path, then this Sonia, Rahul, and what is being carried out under their compromise mission, is a matter of concern for everyone. I believe that the public has already understood their compromise mission...” he said.
