As the counting of votes for the Bihar Assembly Election began on Friday morning, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), buoyed by favourable exit polls — appeared to be in a celebratory mood. From Delhi to Patna, party workers have already begun preparations with traditional Bihari delicacies taking centre stage.

At the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters in Delhi, the kitchen buzzed with activity.

A local confectioner told ANI that elaborate arrangements had been made:

Jalebi for dessert

Sattu Paratha and Baingan Chokha in the main course

And even Litti Chokha ready to be prepared on demand

The festive food preparations underline the confidence BJP workers have expressed ahead of the results.

Interestingly, the celebratory spirit was not limited to the NDA camp.

At the residence of RJD leader Veena Devi in Mokama, Litti Chokha, Rasgulla and other traditional items were being prepared. Veena Devi, contesting against JDU's Anant Kumar Singh and Jan Suraaj's Priyadarshi Piyush, also seemed ready for a big day.

BJP orders 501 kg of laddoos for celebration

One of the biggest highlights of the day was the BJP’s massive order of 501 kg of laddoos, placed ahead of the counting.

A laddoo maker in Patna confirmed that the sweetmeats were scheduled for delivery on the morning of November 14.

BJP worker Krishna Kumar Kallu told PTI that the party plans to celebrate “Holi, Dussehra, Diwali and Eid” together if the NDA wins — a symbolic gesture to highlight public support for the alliance’s development agenda.

He reiterated that the laddoos would be distributed as “prasad” among supporters.

Nitin Nabin confident of 200+ seats

BJP candidate and Bihar minister Nitin Nabin also exuded confidence, stating that the NDA would perform even better than in 2010.

“We are all confident that this time, the NDA seat tally will be near that of the 2010 elections. NDA is going to form the Government. We will get 200+ seats,”

Nabin told ANI.

He also took a sharp dig at the RJD, calling it the continuing “symbol of jungle raj.”

Record turnout in Bihar Elections 2025

Polling took place in two phases on November 6 and 11 and Bihar recorded a historic voter turnout of 66.91%, the highest since 1951. With counting underway, the atmosphere across political camps reflects excitement, anticipation, and intense preparations.
