PM Modi to open Bengaluru’s Yellow Line today: Key stations, schedule, and fare details

Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the long-awaited Yellow Line of Bengaluru’s Namma Metro later today. Spanning 19.15 kilometres from RV Road in the south to Bommasandra in the east, the elevated corridor features 16 stations and has been constructed at a cost of approximately ₹5,057 crore.
The Yellow Line is poised to greatly improve connectivity to major tech and industrial hubs, including Electronic City, BTM Layout, and HSR Layout. It is also expected to reduce congestion at notorious choke points such as the Silk Board junction.
Commercial operations will commence on Monday, 11 August. Initially, three driverless trains will run at intervals of 25 minutes, with frequency expected to improve to 20 minutes as additional trains are introduced later this month.
Metro services will operate daily from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM, with the potential to serve up to 800,000 passengers per day. Ticket prices will remain in line with existing Bengaluru Metro fares, ranging from ₹10 to ₹90 for a one-way journey.
Key stations on the Yellow Line:
RV Road – Interchange with the Green Line
Jayadeva Hospital – Future interchange with the Pink Line; expected to be India’s tallest metro station
Central Silk Board – Key junction for southbound commuters
