Union Home Minister Amit Shah, addressing a poll rally in Rewari, Haryana, on Friday, launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, questioning his understanding of agricultural issues like the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Shah highlighted that the BJP government in Haryana is currently procuring 24 crops at MSP and asked if Congress-ruled states could claim the same.

Criticism on Farmers' Issues and Corruption

Shah ridiculed Rahul Gandhi’s knowledge of the farming sector, asking if he even knows the full form of MSP and the difference between Kharif and Rabi crops.

"Rahul baba, do you know full form of MSP? Which crop is of Kharif, which one is of Rabi, do you know," he asked.

He contrasted the Congress regime’s procurement rates with the BJP’s, stating that under Congress, paddy was procured at ₹1,310 per quintal, while under BJP, it now stands at ₹2,300, with a promise to increase it to ₹3,100 if the party returns to power.

He also accused Congress of neglecting farmers during its rule, recalling instances where farmers were given just ₹2 compensation for crops damaged by rain.

Congress' Failure on One Rank One Pension (OROP) and Corruption

Shah asserted that Congress governments were riddled with corruption and operated on the basis of “cut, commission, and corruption,” where middlemen ruled. He pointed out that the long-standing demand for OROP, ignored by Congress, was fulfilled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015.

Accusing the Congress of insulting the Indian Army, Shah claimed the party referred to the Army chief as a "goonda" and consistently undermined military efforts. He dismissed Congress' criticism of the Agniveer scheme, promising that every Agniveer would be provided with pensionable jobs.

Attack on Article 370 and Kashmir

Shah also addressed Congress’ stance on Article 370, accusing Rahul Gandhi of wanting to restore it in Jammu and Kashmir. “Rahul Baba has said they will bring back Article 370, but I promise you, even his third generation cannot achieve that,” Shah said, emphasizing Modi's firm rule in Kashmir and stating that only the Indian tricolor would fly in the region.

He also criticized Congress’ alliance with the National Conference, claiming they were indulging in vote bank politics and appeasement.

Ram Mandir and Reservation Controversies

Highlighting the construction of the Ram Mandir, Shah slammed Congress for keeping the Ram Lalla idol in a tent for generations, while Modi's government is building the temple. Shah also accused Rahul Gandhi of making statements in the U.S. about ending reservations for SC, ST, and OBC communities.

He assured voters that as long as BJP is in power, reservation for Dalits and backward communities will remain intact. Shah also targeted Congress for disrespecting B.R. Ambedkar by not awarding him the Bharat Ratna and failing to build a memorial for him.

Promises for Rewari and Haryana Development

Shah highlighted several development projects his party would bring to Rewari if re-elected, including setting up a mustard oil cooperative factory, a Vishwakarma university, a new medical college, and memorials for martyrs like Rao Tula Ram. He also promised a Mahila Chaupal in every village and sports facilities like 'akhadas' for wrestlers.

The Union Home Minister concluded by urging voters to support BJP candidates in the upcoming October 5 assembly polls, assuring equitable development in Haryana, especially in the Ahirwal region, which he claimed Congress had neglected.
