Youth brutally stabbed in Thrissur for ignoring 'New Year' greeting; hospitalised

Thrissur: In a shocking incident, a youth was severely injured after being stabbed multiple times in a violent attack here on New Year's Eve.

The victim has been identified as Suhaib (22), a native of Attoor.

The assailant, Shafi, who has a history of criminal cases, reportedly attacked Suhaib over a trivial reason. According to reports, Shafi became enraged when Suhaib and his friends did not return his New Year’s greetings.

The incident happened as Suhaib and four friends were returning from a music program at Cheruthuruthy. While waiting at a bus stop, Shafi and his group approached them and wished them a “Happy New Year.” When Suhaib and his friends did not respond, an argument ensued, escalating into violence.

Suhaib sustained multiple stab wounds and is currently undergoing treatment at the Medical College Hospital.
