The arrested have been identified as Kiran, 33, from Eanchakkal; his mother Beena, 50; Sandhya, 18, from Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu; and Akshay AS Nair, 26, from Thiruvananthapuram.

According to the officials, the arrests were made as part of the Onam Special Drive launched to curb drug trafficking. The arrested persons have been identified as Muhammad Nisil, a native of Kottayam, and Karnataka natives Muhammad Azharudeen and his wife, B. Fathima.
The police seized nearly 1 kg of MDMA from the accused. Cocaine, brown sugar, LSD stamps and hybrid ganja were also recovered during the operation.
