Who is Goldy Brar? FBI adds gangster to Ten Most Wanted list

Washington, DC: The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has placed fugitive gangster Satinderjeet Singh, alias Goldy Brar, on its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, offering a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to his arrest.

Brar is accused of leading the Lawrence Bishnoi Organised Crime Group's operations in North America. According to the FBI, the syndicate is allegedly involved in violent criminal activities across the United States and Canada, including Southern California.

Announcing his addition to the list on Monday (local time), the FBI said, "The FBI has added Satinderjeet Singh to its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives List. He is wanted for his alleged involvement in the Lawrence Bishnoi Organised Crime Group, which is allegedly engaged in a variety of violent acts in Southern California and across the United States and Canada. A reward of up to USD 1,000,000 is offered for information leading to his arrest."

The bureau has linked the criminal organisation to a range of serious offences, including “assassinations of political and religious figures, shootings, murders, kidnappings, extortions, assaults, and the trafficking of narcotics and weapons.”

US authorities believe Brar is based in the United States and oversees the group's activities across North America.

A federal arrest warrant was issued against him by the US District Court for the Central District of California in Los Angeles. The charges include Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) conspiracy, conspiracy to interfere with and attempted interference with commerce by extortion, and conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances with intent to distribute them.

The FBI's wanted notice identifies several aliases used by Brar, including Goldy Brar, Satinderjeet Singh Brar, Satinder Jeet and Satinder Jit Singh Brar.

Born in Punjab, India, Brar speaks Punjabi and English, according to the bureau. The FBI has identified his operational links in Sacramento and Fresno in California, as well as in Canada, India and Mexico.

The FBI has cautioned the public against approaching the fugitive, warning that Satinderjeet Singh "should be considered armed and dangerous and an escape risk."
