Thiruvananthapuram: Evidence collection to begin today for Affan in the gruesome Thiruvananthapuram mass murder case. The procedure is to begin with the murder case of his uncle Latheef and his wife. For the next three days, Affan will be in police custody at Kilimanoor.

The horrific incident, which claimed the lives of five family members, left only Affan’s mother alive. As she continues to recover from the trauma, her health is slowly improving. She has now learnt of the five deaths in the family, including her younger son's.

The 23-year-old Affan had surrendered to the police in Kerala’s capital, confessing to the brutal killings of six people, including five family members and his female friend, on the day of the murder.

According to the police, despite the declining income of the accused's father, Rahim, from his job in the Gulf, the family continued to live a lavish lifestyle, eventually falling into significant debt. This financial strain is believed to have driven Affan to commit the murders, as per initial conclusion.
