Bhopal: A family from Noida staged a protest outside the official residence of Mohan Yadav in Bhopal on Sunday after the death of 33-year-old Twisha Sharma.

Twisha was found hanging at her marital home in the Katara Hills area on May 12. Her family has alleged that the death was linked to dowry harassment and accused her husband and in-laws of murder. According to reports, Bhopal-based lawyer Samarth Singh met Twisha Sharma through a dating app in 2024. The two later got married in December 2025.

After marriage, Twisha moved from Noida to Bhopal. Her family claimed she wanted to return home and had been speaking with them until around 10 pm on the night of her death.

The family has accused Samarth Singh and his mother Giribala Singh, a retired judge, of physically assaulting Twisha before allegedly destroying evidence.

What is the family demanding?

Twisha’s family demanded a second post-mortem examination at AIIMS Delhi, claiming her body had remained in the mortuary at AIIMS Bhopal for several days.

During their protest outside the chief minister’s residence, family members sought intervention from the Madhya Pradesh government and requested that the legal proceedings be transferred outside the state.

Her father Navnidhi Sharma and brother said officials from the chief minister’s office assured them that fair action would be taken in the case.
