Nida Khan pregnant, not on the run; Family disputes police version in TCS conversion case

Media reports that emerged on Friday suggest that Nida Khan, the woman identified by police as a central figure in the TCS Nashik misconduct scandal, is currently at her home in Mumbai rather than a fugitive. While authorities previously described her as "on the run", her family maintains she has been living with her husband since January. This development comes as the investigation into alleged forced religious conversions and sexual harassment at the IT firm’s Nashik facility intensifies.
Whereabouts and legal strategy
It is reported that Khan, 25, is expecting her first child, a factor her legal team is expected to highlight in an anticipatory bail application. Her lawyer has reportedly approached a Nashik court to secure protection from arrest, citing her medical condition. Although police have labelled her a "mastermind" who allegedly suppressed victim complaints while serving on a harassment committee, her family claims she is simply waiting for the legal process to unfold. They have also expressed significant mental distress over the public allegations.
Family disputes official narrative
There is a stark contrast between official police statements and the account provided by Khan’s relatives. While investigators and social media posts have identified her as a high-ranking Human Resources official, her family asserts she was actually a tele-caller in the sales team. They allege that images circulated online were manipulated to misrepresent her professional status. Her uncle stated that despite the high-profile nature of the case, no police officers have yet arrived at their Mumbai residence to question her.
Khan, a commerce graduate currently pursuing an MBA, is allegedly one of several individuals linked to nine separate complaints involving harassment and coercion. As the Special Investigation Team (SIT) continues its work, the company has transitioned its Nashik staff to remote work to ensure their safety. The firm’s leadership has also launched an internal probe, describing the allegations as deeply concerning.
