Meerut delivery boy beaten, locked inside flat over food dispute; CCTV captures scene

Meerut: A dispute over a food delivery allegedly turned violent in Meerut after a delivery boy was slapped, beaten and taken inside a flat, where he was reportedly locked for around three minutes. CCTV footage of the incident has now surfaced, showing the confrontation at a residential complex in the Bhawanpur police station area.

The incident reportedly took place at Ganga Heights, where the delivery boy had arrived to deliver food. According to reports, an argument broke out between him and the customer over taking the order upstairs.

CCTV footage shows a young man confronting him outside the flat and appearing to slap him before taking his phone.

The footage then shows the man taking the delivery boy inside a room. The door is kept locked for about three minutes. 

The delivery boy is later seen coming out of the room. 

The incident was captured on CCTV, while another video of the confrontation has also surfaced.

Police register case

Following the incident, the delivery boy approached the police and filed a complaint.

Meerut Police said in an update that a case has been registered at the police station under the relevant sections and that further statutory proceedings are underway.
