MDMA sold to students; Mampad MES College guest lecturer among 4 arrested in drug bust

Malappuram (Kerala): In a major drug bust targeting networks supplying narcotics to students, Nilambur Police have arrested four individuals, including a college guest lecturer, for peddling MDMA in Nilambur and surrounding areas.

The arrested accused have been identified as Suhail Peringodan, a guest lecturer at Mampad MES College; T N Reena, a native of Edavanna, and Vivek Vijayan and Subramanyan, both residents of Nilambur. The arrests were made by Nilambur Sub-Inspector K M Arshid.

The police operation commenced after officers recovered 0.4 grams of MDMA and 0.5 grams of ganja (cannabis) from Subramanyan. Subsequent searches led to the recovery of further MDMA stock from a car found crashed against a wall near Reena's residence.

Follow-up investigations conducted on the directions of the District Police Chief revealed that Suhail regularly supplied MDMA to Vivek and Reena. Sustained inquiry established that the lecturer was extensively selling synthetic drugs to college students and his personal acquaintances.

Suhail, a resident of Arimbra in Mongam, has been working as a statistics lecturer at Mampad MES College for the past three years. During interrogation, he reportedly confessed to purchasing narcotics from wholesale distributors in Kondotty and Manjeri for resale, while admitting to being a regular MDMA user himself.
