Man attempts to set 18-year-old girl on fire in Kerala; arrested

Alappuzha: A man has been arrested for allegedly attempting to set an 18-year-old girl on fire here on Tuesday night.

The victim managed to escape after the accused poured petrol on her body.

The accused, identified as Jose, 50, reportedly acted out of a dispute between neighbors. As he tried to ignite the fire, the girl pushed him away and ran to safety. The police arrived promptly at the scene and took Jose into custody.
