MP patwari dies by suicide; bodies of two sons found strangled in car near station

Narmadapuram: A local revenue official, or patwari, died by suicide on Sunday after laying his head on railway tracks in front of an oncoming train in Madhya Pradesh's Narmadapuram district, before police subsequently discovered the bodies of his two young sons inside a locked vehicle parked near the station.
The precise circumstances surrounding the children's deaths and the motives behind the official's suicide remain under investigation by law enforcement authorities.
The deceased official, identified as Ajay Dhakad, was posted at Udaipura in Raisen district. He jumped in front of the Sanghamitra Express near the Pipariya railway station at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to Pipariya Sub-Divisional Officer of Police Ashish Kumar Pawar.
The collision severed his head from his torso, and railway police officers retrieved his remains in two sections from the line, Pawar confirmed.
The bodies of Dhakad's sons, identified as Shivam and Samarth, were uncovered around 6:00 p.m. inside a locked vehicle located in the station's parking lot, according to the official's uncle, Pratap Singh Dhakad.
Pawar noted that the children's remains were found positioned between the car seats, concealed under a bedsheet. Initial physical examinations revealed neck markings indicative of strangulation, the police officer added.
Investigating officers are awaiting formal post-mortem examination reports to establish the exact cause of death, Pawar stated.
Ajay Dhakad resided in Aliganj village, situated within Raisen district's Bareli region.
His uncle explained that relatives initiated a search for the two boys upon learning of Dhakad's death, eventually discovering their remains inside the vehicle parked near the station premises.
Shivam and Samarth were enrolled in Class 6 and Class 9, respectively, the relative added.
"Ajay Dhakad had brought the boys to Pipariya on the pretext of taking them to watch a film, but the family later received news of the deaths," he stated.
