History-sheeter and social media influencer Kirti Patel, also known as Kirti Adalja, who was absconding in a ₹2 crore extortion and honeytrap case, was arrested by Kapodra police in Ahmedabad. Despite being elusive for over a year, Patel continued to appear publicly and actively posted videos on her Instagram account.

Six others involved in builder honeytrap

DCP Zone-1 Surat, Alok Kumar, said: “Kirti and six others had honey-trapped a Surat-based builder on June 2, 2024. She kept changing locations, mobile phones, and SIM cards. We traced her to the Sarkhej police station area in Ahmedabad and caught her from a house.”

The offence was registered at Kapodra police station on June 2, 2024, based on a complaint by the victim, Vaju Katrodiya. The FIR names Kirti, Vijay Savani, Zakir, Janvi alias Manisha Goswami, and three unnamed individuals.

Ransom demanded through blackmail setup

According to police, Katrodiya, who had a prior property dispute with Savani, was targeted with the help of Kirti. When the court was about to hear the matter, Savani allegedly began a defamation campaign on social media with Kirti's assistance.

Zakir Pathan contacted Katrodiya, offering to mediate, and invited him to a farmhouse where Janvi was present. There, the builder was allegedly made to consume alcohol, and objectionable photos with Janvi were taken. Patel later demanded ₹2 crore from him.

DCP Kumar said: “We had arrested her based on the warrant issued by the court and produced her before the court. She has demanded a ransom of 2 crores from a builder.”

History of serious offences across Gujarat

Kirti Patel has gained notoriety for posting abusive content and issuing threats on social media. She has been booked in at least ten FIRs across Gujarat. In 2020, the Puna police booked her for attempted murder. She is also accused of extortion in a case filed at Vastrapur police station.

Cases have been registered against her in Gandhinagar, Patan, Junagadh, and Surat rural for offences including prohibition violations, criminal intimidation, and assault.
