Post-mortem details shock Kerala: 15-year-old's skull broken, internal bleeding from nunchaku attack

Kozhikode: The postmortem report of 15-year-old Shahbaz, who tragically passed away after an attack in Thamarassery, has revealed severe injuries, including internal bleeding, a fractured skull, and wounds above his eyes. Doctors also noted that he had suffered hard hits to his chest, which contributed to his death. Police have now intensified their investigation into the case, with a team led by Thamarassery Police Inspector Sayuj gathering crucial information from Shahbaz's relatives.
The investigation has confirmed that Shahbaz was attacked with a nunchaku, with police concluding this based on statements from students in custody and eyewitness accounts. A murder charge has been filed against the students involved in the attack.
Shahbaz was not a student at the tuition center where the farewell party was held. Reports indicate that he had been given money to buy snacks, as there was painting work going on at his house. However, one of Shahbaz's friends came to call him and later brought him back home in critical condition.
The conflict that led to Shahbaz’s tragic death allegedly started when students from MJHSS Elettil School and Thamarassery GVHSS clashed during the farewell party. A technical glitch caused the music to stop, leading to verbal confrontations between the students. Teachers at the tuition center managed to resolve the issue that day. However, it appears that a WhatsApp group was later created by the opposing students to plan retaliation. The police are now investigating whether any adults assisted the students in procuring weapons like the nunchaku used in the attack.
Authorities have also uncovered a voice message sent by one of the students involved in the attack. In the message, the student requests Shahbaz’s forgiveness, stating that they never expected the situation to escalate to violence. The message was sent to Shahbaz’s WhatsApp number, and it is now being scrutinised by investigators.
Shahbaz’s parents have raised concerns about the involvement of adults in the conflict, and the police are exploring this possibility, including whether anyone helped the students in forming the social media group that played a key role in escalating tensions.
The fatal attack occurred during the farewell event at the Triz Tuition Center in Thamarassery Vyapara Bhavan, where students from various schools had gathered.
Shahbaz's body has been handed over to his family after postmortem.
