Idols, silver valuables stolen from Vishnu temple at Scindia memorial in Gwalior

Gwalior: Idols and valuables used in puja were allegedly stolen from a Vishnu temple located inside the Amma Maharaj Chhatri Complex, a memorial site associated with members of the erstwhile Scindia dynasty, police said.
The theft took place on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, according to officials. City Superintendent of Police Manish Yadav said the incident came to light after Amar Singh, a security guard deployed at the complex, lodged a complaint.
“Unidentified persons made away with idols and worship objects made of silver, brass, and copper. The temple priest noticed the theft on Sunday,” Yadav said.
Police have registered a case and formed a special team to investigate the incident. Officers are currently scanning CCTV footage installed at the historic premises to identify those responsible.
The Amma Maharaj Chhatri Complex is considered an important heritage site in Gwalior, housing memorial structures dedicated to members of the Scindia family. Authorities said further details would be shared as the investigation progresses.
