Elderly couple found burnt to death in Alappuzha; police launch search for missing son

Alappuzha: An elderly couple was found burnt to death at their residence in Chennithala West on Saturday.

The deceased have been identified as Raghavan (96) and his wife Bharathi (86). The incident is believed to have happened around 3 am on Saturday.

The house, constructed with tin sheets, was destroyed in the fire.

Police suspect that the couple was murdered and are investigating whether their son, Vijayan, who is known to be an alcoholic, was responsible for setting the house on fire. A search operation has been launched to locate him.
