Divya Spandana reacts to Darshan's arrest in murder case, says 'no one is above the law'

In the wake of actor Darshan Thoogudeepa's recent arrest in connection with a murder case, actor-turned-politician Divya Spandana has spoken out against her co-star and lauded the efforts of the Karnataka Police in apprehending the accused.
Earlier this week, actor Darshan, Pavithra Gowda and 11 others were arrested by Karnataka Police following the discovery of Renukaswamy's body in a Bengaluru drain.
According to police, the accused attacked Renukaswamy, an ardent fan of Darshan, due to comments and posts against Pavithra Gowda, who was very close with the Kannada actor. He also allegedly used "indecent language" and posted offensive messages.
Taking to Instagram, Divya Spandana expressed her stance on the matter, asserting, "No one is above the law." She condemned acts of violence, stating, "You don't go around beating up people and killing them. A simple complaint would suffice whether you believe justice will be served or not."
Furthermore, Spandana commended the efforts of Karnataka police officers to nab the accused. "A word of appreciation and respect for the police officers discharging their duties. It's a thankless job. And they're doing their best. I truly hope they don't succumb to pressure from political parties and reinstate the faith of the people in law and justice."
Ending her post with hashtags #JusticeforRenukaswamy #Darshan #Yedyurappa #Prajwal Revanna."
Meanwhile, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar rubbished reports that the state government is under pressure to favour actor Darshan.
"There is no pressure from anyone.....neither our Home Minister or anyone else is involved (interfering) in it (investigation), we are not recommending anything, we don't know anything," Shivakumar said.
