New Delhi: Actor Koottickal Jayachandran has approached the Supreme Court seeking anticipatory bail in a POCSO case. The case involves the alleged abuse of a four-year-old girl. Jayachandran filed for anticipatory bail after the Kerala High Court rejected his bail plea. Following this, the Kerala Police issued a look-out notice against the actor.

The POCSO case was filed by the Kasaba Police after a complaint was made regarding the abuse of the child. The complaint, submitted by the child’s relative through the Child Protection Unit, was handed over to the police. The police recorded the child’s statement. The Kerala High Court dismissed Jayachandran's anticipatory bail plea, emphasising that the child’s statement should not be dismissed as unreliable.

Advocate A Karthik filed the anticipatory bail petition for Jayachandran in the Supreme Court. The petition is expected to be considered by the Supreme Court either on Friday or Monday.
