Kerala schools reopen after summer break, new academic year begins
Schools across the southern Indian state of Kerala reopened on Monday after a two-month summer vacation, marking the start of the 2026–27 academic year. The first day of school was celebrated with enthusiasm as students returned to classrooms across the state.
Many schools organized special welcome events, cultural programs, and orientation sessions, particularly for first-time entrants and primary school students. School campuses were decorated to create a festive atmosphere, while teachers and staff warmly received children and their parents.
