India Post has inaugurated a Next Generation Post Office at the Government Medical College in Satna, introducing a modern, student-friendly space that combines postal, banking and financial services under one roof.

Designed to redefine the traditional image of a post office, the facility features indoor games such as chess, a guitar, books, magazines and a coffee machine, creating a welcoming environment for students and visitors.

According to postal officials, the initiative aims to connect young people with India Post's savings schemes and financial inclusion programmes while making essential postal and banking services more accessible. The Satna facility is the fourth Next Generation Post Office in Madhya Pradesh, following similar centres at MANIT Bhopal, IIT Bhopal, IIT Indore and IIM Indore.
