India’s white-ball campaign in the UK has received a major setback with all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy ruled out after sustaining a quadriceps injury during the recent ODI series against Afghanistan. The injury comes at a difficult time for the Indian setup, especially with Hardik Pandya also managing a quadriceps concern that limits his bowling workload in ODIs.

According to the medical update, MRI scans revealed swelling along with fiber disruption in Reddy’s left quadriceps, forcing him out of the tour and sending him to the Centre of Excellence for further assessment.

The 23-year-old is expected to undergo at least four weeks of rehabilitation before progressing to return-to-play protocols.

Reddy has represented India across all formats and was viewed as an important pace-bowling all-round option. His recent increase in bowling speed had drawn attention, but injury concerns now raise questions about workload management.
