J&K Elections 2024: Gujjar Bakarwals cut short migration to vote | WATCH

A few members of the pastoral nomadic Gujjar Bakarwal community in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, have decided to cut short their annual summer migration to the hilly areas to return home in time for the upcoming assembly elections later this month.

Typically, the tribe migrates every summer with its livestock and returns when snow sets in on the hills.

However, this year, upon learning about the elections in the union territory, they chose to return early.
