Assam Polls 2026: CM Sarma rallies behind AGP candidates, predicts ‘Massive win’
Guwahati: Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday intensified campaigning for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections by joining nomination rallies of key Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) leaders and expressing confidence in a strong electoral performance by the BJP-led alliance.
The Chief Minister visited multiple constituencies on a crucial day of nomination filing, extending support to senior AGP leader Keshab Mahanta and AGP president Atul Bora.
Speaking to party workers, Sarma said he first travelled to Kaliabor to support Mahanta and would then head to Golaghat to stand with Bora during his nomination process. His presence at both locations signalled coordinated campaigning within the alliance.
