Will Smith to join Allu Arjun’s ‘Raaka’? New report reveals details

Allu Arjun's ‘Raaka’ may have just found two of its biggest surprise names with fresh reports hinting at two major Bollywood-Hollywood names joining the project. The sci-fi film, earlier referred to by its working title ‘AA22xA6’, was officially named ‘Raaka’ on April 8, Allu Arjun’s 44th birthday. The makers also released the first-look poster, showing the actor in a striking new avatar.
In the poster, Allu Arjun appears bald, with part of his face obscured by a furry, wolf-like hand with long claws. The unusual look has added to the mystery surrounding his character and sparked speculation among fans about the world of the film.
Now, according to a Mid-Day report, Hollywood actor Will Smith is reportedly in talks to join ‘Raaka’. The report claims that discussions between Smith and the filmmakers have been underway since last year, with the actor being considered for a significant antagonist role.
The publication further reports that the makers are working on an overseas schedule for Smith's scenes. However, the location has reportedly not been finalised yet and will depend on the actor's availability.
A source quoted by Mid-Day said Smith's dates are currently being worked out and that his costumes have already been finalised. The source also reportedly said that there is considerable excitement among the team ahead of the upcoming schedule.
Is Shah Rukh Khan also part of ‘Raaka’?
The film has also been linked to another major star. There have been earlier reports claiming that Shah Rukh Khan would appear in ‘Raaka’. Those reports were initially denied, but Mid-Day now claims that Khan will indeed be part of the film.
According to the publication's latest report, Shah Rukh Khan is expected to join the international schedule and shoot his portions after September. The actor is currently working on the final song for his upcoming film King, after which he is reportedly expected to turn his attention to ‘Raaka’.
The reported casting would make the project an even bigger collaboration, bringing together stars from Indian and international cinema.
Alongside Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone, ‘Raaka’ features Rashmika Mandanna, Janhvi Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur in key roles.
Directed by Atlee, the film is being mounted on a reported budget of more than Rs 700 crore and is backed by Sun Pictures.
