Yash’s ‘Toxic’ awaits OTT deal as offers drop from Rs 200 crore to Rs 30 crore: Reports
Yash-starrer ‘Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups’ appears to be facing another setback, with the film’s post-theatrical streaming rights reportedly still unsold and OTT platforms said to be offering substantially less than what the makers had initially expected.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the makers of the Geetu Mohandas-directed period gangster drama had earlier received an offer of around Rs 150 crore from a leading streaming platform. However, the team was reportedly seeking a deal worth more than Rs 200 crore, expecting the film’s theatrical performance to strengthen its digital value.
An industry source cited in the report claimed that the makers were confident of securing a blockbuster OTT deal after the film’s theatrical release.

However, the report claims that OTT platforms have now significantly lowered their offers following the film’s box office performance. The digital rights for the film, reportedly covering all languages, are said to be attracting offers as low as Rs 30 crore.
No official announcement regarding an OTT partner or the sale of the digital rights has been made by the makers.

‘Toxic’ box office performance
The reported decline in OTT offers comes as the film's theatrical run has fallen short of the expectations surrounding the Yash-led project.
According to Sacnilk, Toxic collected a reported Rs 2.35 crore net in India on Day 12 from 1,677 shows. Its total India gross stood at Rs 293.30 crore, while India net collections reached Rs 245.75 crore.
The film reportedly earned another Rs 0.50 crore overseas on Day 12, taking its overseas gross to Rs 44.50 crore. Its reported worldwide gross collection currently stands at Rs 337.80 crore.

‘Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups’
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups is a period gangster drama set against the backdrop of Goa. The film follows Raya, played by Yash, as he becomes entangled in the criminal underworld while navigating violence, ambition, family relationships and complicated personal dynamics.
Yash appears in a dual role as Raya and Ticket, while Nayanthara plays his sister Ganga. Kiara Advani stars as Nadia and Rukmini Vasanth as Mellisa. Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Akshay Oberoi are also part of the cast, alongside Sudev Nair and Darrell D'Silva.
The film was released worldwide on August 26, 2026, in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and English.
Toxic received an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) before its theatrical release.
