Without religious rituals, Pratap Pothen’s body cremated as he asked for

Chennai: Mortal remains of the director and veteran actor Pratap Pothen were cremated at Velankadu crematorium in Chennai, without any religious rituals.

His relative Anil Thomas said that Pratap Pothen had earlier asked to cremate his body.

Various noted personalities from artistic and cultural circles arrived to attend the funeral of the late actor. Kamal Haasan, Maniratnam, Sathyaraj, Vetrimaran, Rajeev Menon, and Rahman were the few who reached to bid farewell to Pratap Pothen.

A NORKA official in Chennai was present at the funeral on behalf of the Chief Minister of Kerala and the Minister of Cultural Affairs. Pratap Pothen died of cardiac arrest in his residence in Chennai on Friday.
