Mammootty back on set; Shooting of film with Mohanlal to begin early October

Kochi: The long wait of Malayalis have come to an end. After a break, Mammootty is returning to films. Having completed his treatment, the star is stepping back into shooting schedules. Mammootty’s comeback will be through a film directed by Mahesh Narayanan, starring alongside Mohanlal. Shooting will begin in October.

Mammootty is arriving on the set of the multi-star film directed by Mahesh Narayanan and produced by Anto Joseph. For this big-budget venture, Mammootty will join in the first week of October. On August 19, news broke out that Mammootty had regained full health. Mohanlal and others extended best wishes to him. Since then, fans and film lovers have been eagerly awaiting for his big-screen return. The reason is that Mammootty has never taken such a long break in his career before.

The filming will take place in Hyderabad, London, and Kochi. It was during the shooting of this film that Mammootty went for treatment. Later, he rested at his residence in Chennai. Last month, his close friends, producers Anto Joseph and George, announced on social media that the actor has fully recovered.

This film is special as it marks the first time in 17 years that Mohanlal and Mammootty are acting together. Alongside Mammootty and Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, and Grace Antony are also part of the cast. Reports suggest the film’s title will be Patriot. The first phase of shooting took place in Sri Lanka.
