Actor Vinayakan has stirred controversy with a social media post criticising individuals who speak out publicly against intoxication and drug use. Without naming anyone, Vinayakan mocked those who, according to him, are in no position to offer such advice.

In his post, Vinayakan wrote: “It's a comedy, and a tragedy, when people who are completely intoxicated from drinking, who are physically weak due to their own drinking habits, and who need the help of four people to stand up, get on stage and lecture others about drugs.”

“Don’t bring these corpses on stage”

He further elaborated: “Everything that intoxicates is a drug—be it alcohol, ganja, or women. Are you, who cannot stand on your own but must lean on others’ shoulders to sit on a public platform, and who knows nothing about technology, advising young men and women?”

Vinayakan didn’t stop there. He claimed that those who try to push their children into cinema for money are the ones truly addicted—and that cinema itself is an intoxicant for some.

“Don’t bring these dead corpses to public platforms. If you’re at the end of your life, just go home and die there,” he added.

Was it directed at Salim Kumar?

Following the post, many online speculated that the actor’s remarks were aimed at Salim Kumar. A recent video showed Salim Kumar stumbling while descending from a stage at a school event. He was assisted by others but managed to walk to his car afterwards.

Though Vinayakan did not name anyone, the timing of the post and the reference to someone needing help to stand up led netizens to draw a connection.
