First look of "Vala" teases sci-fi comeback for Jagathy Sreekumar

The first look of Vala has taken Malayalam cinema fans by storm, featuring Jagathy Sreekumar as Prof. Ambili in a gripping sci-fi setting that teases zombies, cosmic mysteries, and a potential cinematic universe.

Malayalam cinema legend Jagathy Sreekumar makes a striking comeback as the enigmatic Prof. Ambili in Arun Chandu's upcoming film Vala. Released on Jagathy’s 73rd birthday, the promo introduces him in a wheelchair, drawing visual parallels to Stephen Hawking. His character—a philosophical scientist dubbed "Uncle Lunar"—delivers a haunting monologue about the pursuit of knowledge.

Set in a speculative world, Vala also stars Anarkali Marikar, Basil Joseph, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Gokul Suresh, Aju Varghese, and others in a story that hints at a zombie-infused sci-fi narrative. The film follows Arun Chandu’s earlier genre-bending work Gaganachari, raising speculation that Vala could be a sequel or part of a larger cinematic universe.

The film’s imaginative world is bolstered by names like Purambokku Pluto and Callisto, with stunning visuals and special effects teased in the promo. Produced by Turtle Wine Productions and Letters Entertainments, Vala is scripted by Arun Chandu and Taylor Durden.
