Mammootty's 'Turbo' earns Rs 6.2 crores on opening day

The first-day collection report of Mammootty starrer 'Turbo' is out, and a total of Rs 6.2 crores have been collected from Kerala alone. With this, ‘Turbo’ has achieved the highest collection this year. On the second day, the movie recorded pre-bookings of Rs. 2 crores so far, and Mammootty’s ‘Turbo’ is expected to break records. 

Mammootty's all-time first-day collection was acquired through ‘Turbo’. A total of 224 extra shows were charted for Turbo on the first day. Mammootty's new getup and mass action comedy in ‘Turbo’ set theatres on fire. More than 40 shows were charted in various theatres in Ernakulam district, 22 extra shows were charted in Thiruvananthapuram district, and more than 50 late-night shows were charted in Kozhikode and Malappuram districts. Mammootty has got the best achievement in his film career with ‘Turbo’. 

The movie is also breaking records in the UK and has become the Malayalam film with the biggest release in Germany. ‘Turbo’ continues its screening in more than 300 theatres in Kerala, with a duration of 2 hours, 32 minutes. Produced by Mammootty Kampany, the film is directed by Vysakh with a screenplay by Midhun Manuel Thomas. The film is distributed by Wayfarer Films, and overseas distribution is handled by Truth Global Films.

'Turbo' is the fifth film produced under the banner of Mammootty Kampany. The film tells the story of Jose, a jeep driver. Kannada actor Raj B. Shetty and Telugu actor Sunil are playing other important roles in the film. The film has been made with a lot of emphasis on action scenes. The background music is composed by Christo Xavier and his team. After the films 'Pokkiri Raja' and 'Madhura Raja', Vysakh and Mammootty reunite with 'Turbo'.
