Tom Holland is making headlines in Mumbai not only for the Indian premiere of ‘The Odyssey’ but also for his choice of accommodation. The British actor has reportedly checked into the iconic Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, where he is staying in the exclusive Tata Suite, one of the property's most prestigious and expensive residences.

The luxury suite, named after Tata Group founder Sir Jamsetji Tata, is regarded as one of India's finest hotel accommodations. Depending on the time of year and availability, the nightly tariff is reported to range between ₹7 lakh and ₹12 lakh. Designed to resemble a lavish private residence rather than a conventional hotel room, the suite combines heritage-inspired interiors with modern luxury.

Inside the Tata Suite

Spanning approximately 465 square metres, the Tata Suite offers expansive living spaces tailored for both leisure and business travellers. The accommodation includes two bedrooms, an elegant living room, a formal dining area, a private office and a separate lounge.

Guests also have access to a meeting room capable of hosting up to 15 people, a private gym, an in-suite spa complete with a sauna, luxury bathrooms and a butler's pantry. For larger groups or families, the suite can be connected to an additional bedroom.

The combination of historical significance and personalised service continues to position it among the country's most sought-after luxury hotel stays.

Tom Holland arrives in Mumbai

Holland arrived in Mumbai on Friday ahead of the Indian premiere of Christopher Nolan's ‘The Odyssey’. Videos shared online showed the actor leaving Mumbai's Kalina Airport before travelling to the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.

The visit marks Holland's second trip to India after his 2023 visit. He was joined by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Christopher Nolan, producer Emma Thomas and co-star Matt Damon as part of the film's international promotional tour.

Mumbai has been included alongside London, Paris and New York as an official destination on ‘The Odyssey's global promotional campaign. It also marks the first time one of Nolan's films has received a dedicated premiere event in India.

Warm welcome from Indian fans

The actor received an enthusiastic reception during the special screening of ‘The Odyssey’, with fans greeting him with loud cheers and a standing ovation as he walked onto the stage.

Holland acknowledged the audience with a traditional 'namaste' before expressing his gratitude.

"From the bottom of my heart, thank you for always welcoming us with such open arms, happiness, excitement, grace and love. No one brings an energy to a movie theatre as you do here in India," he said.

Earlier in the day, he also greeted fans gathered outside the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, waving to the crowd before heading inside.

About ‘The Odyssey’

Written, directed and co-produced by Christopher Nolan, ‘The Odyssey’ adapts Homer's ancient Greek epic into a large-scale cinematic spectacle. The story follows Odysseus, portrayed by Matt Damon, as he undertakes a perilous 10-year journey back to Ithaca after the fall of Troy.

Holland stars as Telemachus, Odysseus' son, while the ensemble cast also features Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong'o and Samantha Morton, among others.

Filmed across multiple international locations using IMAX technology, ‘The Odyssey’ is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on July 17.
