‘The Paradise’ X review: ‘A completely forgettable film’ — Nani film gets roasted on X

Nani’s much-awaited ‘The Paradise’ has finally reached theatres, but the first reactions on X are far from unanimous. While Srikanth Odela’s film has been noticed for its ambitious world-building, opening portions, interval block and a few action sequences, several viewers have described the overall experience as underwhelming, with the screenplay, editing and emotional connect emerging as major concerns

X user Venky Reviews delivered one of the harshest verdicts, calling ‘The Paradise’ “a patience testing artificial mass film” and eventually describing it as “a completely forgettable film”. According to the user, the film has an interesting start and a decent interval, but the second half falls apart with weak writing, tedious narration and very little emotional connect.

The review also criticised what it described as artificial staging, performances and action, along with abrupt cuts that make the film feel chaotic. Nani’s performance received acknowledgement for the effort, but the user felt that the actor appeared out of place in the world created by the film.

Fukkard’s reaction pointed to a similar gap between ambition and execution. The X user praised the film’s ideas, motive and world-building but felt that a messy screenplay and weak execution prevented the potential from translating on screen. The opening sequences, interval block, KCR episode and climax action were singled out as portions that worked, while the editing and background score were criticised.

Christopher Kanagaraj also found several aspects of the presentation disappointing, particularly Nani’s mass avatar, the loud background score, editing and narration. The user, however, highlighted the opening 20 minutes, interval point and KCR scenes as positives.

The film’s emotional core has also become a talking point among viewers. X user Amutha Bharathi said the first half was at least passable but found the second half “completely flat”. The user also felt that the mother character, central to the film’s emotional thread, had not been established strongly enough for the mother-son sentiment to connect.

Raghav Juyal’s antagonist has drawn criticism too. X user sanju_d623 questioned the character’s portrayal, joking that Juyal comes across more like a comedian than a villain.

Meanwhile, Zingoor chose to post what was described as a “zero word review”, while another user, Demon, gave an especially harsh reaction to the film.

However, the reactions are not entirely negative. X user Gooli felt that the film had several good elements and suggested that fixing its first and second halves could have transformed the overall experience. This sentiment is also reflected in some of the more measured reactions, which acknowledge the scale and ideas behind the film even while criticising their execution.

‘The Paradise’ marks Nani’s reunion with Srikanth Odela after ‘Dasara’, raising expectations for another intense collaboration. But based on the early X reactions, the film appears to have struggled to turn its ambitious premise and striking world into a consistently engaging mass entertainer.

For now, the dominant criticism is clear: ‘The Paradise’ appears to have plenty of ambition and flashes of potential, but weak writing, uneven narration, editing issues and a lack of emotional impact have left several early viewers feeling that the film does not deliver on its promise.
