The pre-release teaser of ‘Kalamkaval’, directed by Jithin K Jose and starring Mammootty and Vinayakan in central roles, is out now. The teaser was launched at a grand event held in Kochi the other day. This is the film’s second teaser, following the impressive audience response received for the first teaser and trailer.

The film is set for a worldwide release on December 5. Mammootty, the film’s 23 leading actresses, and the entire crew were present for the launch event. Several prominent Malayalam film stars and technicians also attended. Kalamkaval marks the seventh film produced under the Mammootty Kampany banner, with Wayfarer Films distributing it in Kerala. Jithin K Jose co-wrote the script with Jishnu Sreekumar.

The teaser hints at Mammootty playing a psychopathic killer who derives pleasure from murder, while Vinayakan appears as a police officer investigating the disappearance of several women. The line, “You feel the greatest pleasure when you kill a human”, delivered by Mammootty’s character, reinforces the film’s menacing tone.

Future Runup Films is distributing the film in Tamil Nadu, the company behind major hits such as Loka. Advance ticket bookings for Kerala opened on Monday at exactly 11:11 am and have also begun in the Gulf. Truth Global Films is the overseas distribution partner. Kalamkaval marks the directorial debut of Jithin K Jose, who gained attention as the writer of the hit film Kurup starring Dulquer Salmaan. The film’s songs, particularly the Tamil retro-style tracks composed by Mujeeb Majeed, are already trending and winning praise.

Interviews featuring Mammootty and Vinayakan, part of the movie’s promotional campaign, are currently trending on social media. These interviews were released via the Mammootty Kampany YouTube channel. Early indications suggest the film’s biggest highlight will be the powerful performances of Mammootty and Vinayakan in this crime drama thriller. The film has received a U/A 16+ certificate from the censor board. After an eight-month gap, fans and the Malayalam film industry are eagerly awaiting Mammootty’s return to theatres with ‘Kalamkaval’.
