A vampire movie? Bollywood sinks its teeth into horror-comedy again with ‘Thamma’ | WATCH

Mumbai: The much-anticipated trailer of ‘Thamma', starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, has officially been released, offering a first look at the latest entry in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, 'Thamma' is set to hit cinemas this Diwali, promising a supernatural mix of romance, horror, and comedy. The film follows in the footsteps of previous hits like Stree, Stree 2, and Bhediya, all of which belong to the same shared universe.
The two-minute twenty-four-second trailer opens with Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s character — ‘Thamma' — who reveals his sinister plan to convert humans into vampires and build an army to dominate the world. However, his ambitions are thwarted when he is captured and sealed inside a cave for a thousand years.
Fast forward to the present day, Ayushmann Khurrana’s character unwittingly comes into contact with 'Thamma' and is subsequently turned into a vampire. What follows is a chaotic, action-packed journey, as glimpsed in the trailer, featuring Ayushmann exhibiting superhuman vampire powers — leaping across rooftops and flinging cars effortlessly.
Rashmika Mandanna plays his mysterious ally and love interest. In several shots, she is seen supporting and even carrying him — literally and emotionally — as the two battle against the forces unleashed by ‘Thamma’. Their intense chemistry hints at a central romantic thread woven through the horror-comedy fabric.
Paresh Rawal also makes an appearance, delivering understated humour that adds a comic edge to the otherwise dark and fantastical premise.
The film is penned by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew, and Arun Fulara, and promises a new twist on the genre, blending folklore, fantasy, and fun.
'Thamma' is slated for a grand theatrical release during Diwali 2025.
